Silky Oak Golf
Activities
Named after the trees that dominate the course's flora, Silky Oak Country Club is a regulation par-72 layout of wide fairways and accessible greens, making it an ideal choice for golfers with medium to high handicaps who want to enjoy a day out on the course while taking in the stunning scenery.
Despite its open concept, Silky Oak offers a range of potential pitfalls to challenge even the most skilled golfers. The extra-wide fairways are subject to some fairly hefty elevation changes, and water comes into play on eight holes. Both the 4th and 13th holes are dog-legs where you must play twice over water to reach the putting surface.
Water and the occasional pot bunker aside, there is not too much to impede your progress, as the trees don’t really come into play. Unique and undulating green complexes require short game finesse to score well, while most holes offer panoramic views of the surrounding hills. The best view of all is available from the halfway houses located at the top of a hill between nines.
The clubhouse and other facilities, including a Japanese restauranta re adequate but nothing special compared to the golf course's beauty. The course boasts an on-site golf lodge with recreational facilities, making it an excellent option for those looking to stay overnight.
