The Full Moon Party is Thailand's most iconic beach party and one of the most famous in the world. Every month, around the night of the full moon, Haad Rin Beach, on the southern tip of Koh Phangan, welcomes thousands of travellers from all over the world for a night of music, lights and dancing on the sand until sunrise.
What to Expect
Once the sun goes down, Haad Rin Beach turns into a giant open-air dance floor under the moonlight. Sound systems line the beach, each playing a different style of music, from commercial hits and EDM to reggae, drum and bass and techno.

Full Moon Party Dates 2026–2027
The party is usually held on the night of the full moon. When the full moon falls on a Buddhist holiday, the party is moved to another night.

Good to Know
Koh Phangan has no airport and can only be reached by boat, with regular ferries and speedboats from Koh Samui. Boats and taxis are very busy around party nights, so it is best to plan your journey and your ride back in advance. On the beach, wear shoes, keep an eye on your belongings, stay well hydrated and avoid swimming at night.
