Every February, Jomtien Beach celebrates Pattaya's fishing heritage with the Pattaya Squid Fair, a lively seafood festival held right on the sand. For two days, from late afternoon into the evening, the beachfront turns into a giant open-air seafood market, with live music, games and a relaxed seaside atmosphere.
Free and open to everyone, the festival is one of the most popular food events of the year in Pattaya, loved by locals, families and visitors alike.
A Seafood Paradise by the Sea
At the heart of the festival is a huge gathering of seafood vendors from Pattaya and Chonburi, serving fresh squid and a wide variety of local seafood, grilled, fried, steamed and seasoned in every possible way. Visitors can enjoy their meal directly on the beach, with the sea breeze and the sunset over the Gulf of Thailand.
Games, Music and a Fishing Village Theme
Each edition has its own theme inspired by the local fishing community, with decorated zones and photo spots along the beach. The programme also includes live music and fun competitions with prizes, such as squid fishing contests, tug-of-war and beach games, making it a great outing for families and groups of friends.
