Amata Spring Country Club: The Floating Green of Thailand
Between Bangkok and Pattaya, near Chonburi, Amata Spring Country Club is one of the most exclusive and prestigious golf clubs in Thailand. Opened in 2005 and designed by Lee Schmidt of Schmidt-Curley Design, its name means "eternal spring". The course has hosted many international events, including the very first Honda LPGA Thailand in 2006, the Royal Trophy between Europe and Asia, and DP World Tour tournaments. It was voted Best Course on the Asian Tour by the players four years in a row.
The Course
18 holes · Par 72 · about 7,450 yards from the championship tees
The layout loops around two vast lakes, with high-flashed bunkers, large undulating greens, intricate chipping areas and water in play on several holes. The longer front nine calls for power, while the shorter back nine rewards finesse and accuracy.
The 17th: Asia's First Floating Green
The most famous hole in Thailand: a par 3 played to an island green floating in the middle of a lake, beneath the striking Amata Castle. Once on the green, players reach it by boat to finish the hole. An unforgettable moment, seen on television screens around the world.
A Private Club
Amata Spring is a private club: the course is reserved for members and their invited guests, with no public tee times. As a PATTAYA LAND guest, access can be arranged through our Concierge Team, on request, subject to availability. Visitors who are not playing can still enjoy the clubhouse restaurant and the pro shop.
