Khao Kheow Country Club: A Pete Dye Course Between the Valleys
Halfway between Pattaya and Bangkok, in the hills of Bang Phra, Khao Kheow Country Club is a 27-hole course designed by Pete Dye, one of the most famous golf architects in the world. Opened in 1992, it is set between two green valleys, with real elevation changes, large ponds, Dye's signature bunkering and lightning-fast greens. A scenic and demanding course, and a favourite of experienced golfers in the region.
The Three Nines
27 holes · Par 72 for every 18-hole combination · about 7,080 yards from the back tees
Course A
Set among the hills, with significant elevation changes. Its standout hole is the par-4 7th, with a narrow fairway, water running all the way along the left and two bunkers waiting on the right.
Course B
Home to one of the most photographed holes in Thailand: the par-3 8th, played to an island green that recalls the famous 17th at TPC Sawgrass, Pete Dye's most iconic creation.
Course C
The most recent nine, with a more relaxed resort style and beautiful views, but water comes seriously into play on the closing holes, including an approach over a lake on the 7th.

Good to Know
Read the greens carefully: fast and full of subtle breaks, they are the true test of the course.
Play all 27 holes: a great way to discover the variety of the three nines in one day.
Watch the wind: it can make Pete Dye's water and bunkers even more demanding.
Combine with the area: Khao Kheow Open Zoo, Bangpra and Crystal Bay are all nearby.
