St Andrews 2000 Golf Club: The Course With Two Par 6s
In the rolling hills of Ban Chang, about 45 minutes south-east of Pattaya, St Andrews 2000 Golf Club is one of the most unusual and talked-about courses in Thailand. Designed by Desmond Muirhead in the spirit of a Scottish links and opened in 2000, it plays to a rare par of 74, thanks to two par-6 holes. Elevated tees and greens, tight landing zones, split fairways and huge putting surfaces make it a true test for experienced golfers, and a round you will talk about for a long time.
The Course
18 holes · Par 74 · over 7,500 yards from the back tees
The layout follows sharply rolling terrain, with rocky outcrops, ponds and many forced carries over water. The greens are large and full of breaks, so getting close to the hole is only half the job.
The Two Par 6s
The 4th and the 13th are the course's signature: two par 6s, among the longest holes in Thailand. Reaching the green requires strategy, patience and a new way of thinking about course management.

Good to Know
For experienced golfers: the course is best suited to players with a handicap of 18 or lower.
Bring extra balls: water carries and elevated greens leave little room for error.
Two sister courses: Rayong Green Valley and Silky Oak share the same complex and clubhouse, perfect for a golf week.
Tee off early: morning rounds are cooler, which helps on such a long course.
