Hot Tuna Bar: Walking Street's Loudest Live Band
You hear it before you see it. Hot Tuna Bar has been belting out live rock and pop covers onto Walking Street for years, from a stage that faces straight onto the strip, with a house band that plays at a volume the clubs would envy. Open-fronted, free to walk into, and rated among the best bars in Pattaya by visitors who came for one song and stayed for the set. If Candy Shop is the sofa and The Stones House is the pub, Hot Tuna is the gig.
What to Expect
The venue: an open-fronted bar with the stage at the back facing the street, tables and stools in front of it, a long bar along the side and the Walking Street crowd stopping at the entrance to listen. Loud, bright and always busy.
The music: live bands playing rock and pop covers from the 70s to today, with a repertoire that swings from Bon Jovi and Oasis to current chart hits depending on the night's band. Sets run back to back through the evening.
The crowd: rock fans and sing-along crowds of every nationality, groups on their way down the street, expats who treat it as their regular, and couples who want a seat, a beer and a band. Full on weekends.
The rhythm: doors from the evening, the band from around 9:00 PM, the busiest sets between 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM, and the music until the early hours.

Good to Know
Sit near the stage: the front tables go first. Arrive before the band starts for a seat with a view.
Stand at the front: you can also listen from the street, which is what half the audience does. Walk in when a song you like starts.
Check prices first: drink prices are posted at the bar, and they are fair for Walking Street.
Request a song: the bands take requests between sets. The classics work best.
Leaving late: taxis and baht buses wait on Soi Marine, off Walking Street, and at Bali Hai Pier at the far end. Both are easier than the crowd at the Beach Road arch.
