Club Insomnia & iBar: The King of Walking Street
Ask anyone in Pattaya where to go dancing and the first answer is usually the same. Club Insomnia has been the reference nightclub of Walking Street for well over a decade, a multi-level club at the mid-point of the strip, sitting above iBar, the open-front bar that serves as its front door and warm-up. Stylish décor, a serious sound and light system, a large dance floor broken up by small stages for show dancers, and a crowd that fills it seven nights a week. If you only do one club in Pattaya, this is the one most people start with.
What to Expect
The venue: iBar at street level, open to Walking Street, where the evening starts with a drink and a view of the crowd. Upstairs, Club Insomnia itself, with the main dance floor, several bars and raised stages where show dancers perform through the night.
The music: EDM and bass-heavy house as the backbone, with hip-hop and commercial sets depending on the night and the DJ. Loud, high-energy and built for dancing rather than talking.
The crowd: a mix of international tourists, expats and Thai regulars, from groups of friends on a first trip to people who come back every season. Packed from midnight, and the mix changes as the night goes on.
The rhythm: iBar from 9:00 PM, the club from around 10:00 PM, the dance floor at its peak between 12:30 AM and 3:30 AM, and the music until 6:00 AM.

Entry: usually free, with a cover charge on event nights. Check at the door.
Dress code: smart casual. Clean trainers are fine, flip-flops and singlets may be turned away.
Getting there: on foot along Walking Street, about 5 minutes by car from Soi Pattaya Land to the Beach Road arch. Bolt or Grab is the easiest option, or ask our team to arrange your transport.
Age: adults only. The legal drinking age in Thailand is 20, and ID may be checked at the door.

Good to Know
Start at iBar: the downstairs bar is the natural first stop. Drinks are cheaper than upstairs and you can judge the night before going in.
Arrive after midnight: the club fills late. Come at 11:00 PM and you will have the floor almost to yourself; come at 1:00 AM and you will see it as it is meant to be.
Check prices first: drink prices are posted at the bars. Buckets and towers are the group option; bottle tables need a reservation on busy nights.
Leaving late: taxis and baht buses wait on Soi Marine, off Walking Street, and at Bali Hai Pier at the far end. Both are easier than the crowd at the Beach Road arch.
