Soi Boomerang: Pattaya's Nightlife Street on the Rise

A few years ago, Soi Boomerang was a quiet side street off Soi Buakhao. Today it has its own nightlife scene, with go-go bars and gentlemen's clubs side by side, a sports lounge, a speakeasy, and more restaurants and food stalls opening every season along the way. Small enough to walk in two minutes, central enough to reach on foot from Soi Buakhao or LK Metro, and still off the tourist radar. Adults only after dark.

What to Expect

The street: a narrow soi off the southern half of Soi Buakhao. No neon strip, but a row of lit entrances with doormen, and between them the tables of restaurants and the smoke of food stalls that give the street its daytime life.

Go-go bars and clubs: the biggest success on the street is Play Girlz, the venue that put Soi Boomerang on the map. Around it, a handful of go-go bars with a stage, dancers and DJs, and gentlemen's clubs where you are shown to a lounge and served at your seat, closer to a private club than a pub.

Bars: a sports lounge with the matches on screen, a hidden speakeasy for proper cocktails, and a couple of classic open-front bars. Enough to spend an evening here without setting foot in a go-go.

Food: the newest side of Soi Boomerang. Ribs and Western comfort food, spicy Isaan cooking, bar-restaurants and street-food vendors, which makes it one of the few nightlife streets where you can eat well before, between or after the bars.

The crowd: expats and visitors who know Pattaya, plus a growing number of people who come for dinner first. Almost no walk-in tourists.

The rhythm: food and the sports lounge from the afternoon, go-go bars and clubs from the early evening until late.

Where to Eat on Soi Boomerang

A few steps away on Soi Buakhao, Korando's Bar & Guest House is one of the area's best-known bars and a natural first or last stop (Google Maps).

This list is not exhaustive. Venues change hands and names from one season to the next, so treat it as a starting point rather than a complete directory.

  • Opening hours: restaurants and the sports lounge from the afternoon, go-go bars and clubs from the early evening until late, hours vary by venue

  • Getting there: about 10 minutes by car from Walking Street or Soi Pattaya Land, or a five-minute walk from LK Metro. Bolt or Grab is the easiest option, or ask our team to arrange your transport.

  • Age: go-go bars and clubs are adults only. The legal drinking age in Thailand is 20.

Good to Know

  • Eat here first: the restaurants are the easy way to start, then move to the bars a few doors down.

  • Check prices first: go-go bars post their drink prices; clubs have their own structure, usually explained at the door or on a menu. Drinks for staff are priced separately from your own.

  • Look before you sit: a go-go bar and a gentlemen's club work differently. A glance inside tells you which one you are walking into.

  • No photos inside: staff and customers do not want to be filmed. Keep your phone in your pocket once inside a bar or club.

  • Combine your evening: LK Metro, Soi Honey and Tree Town are all within a few minutes' walk, which makes one long evening without a taxi.
