Jomtien Beach: Pattaya's Relaxed Seaside Escape
Just south of Pratumnak Hill, about 10 minutes from central Pattaya, Jomtien Beach stretches for around 6 km of golden sand, lined with palm trees and a long shaded promenade. More relaxed than Pattaya Beach, it is a favourite with families, couples and long-stay visitors who want sea, sun and water sports, without the intensity of the city centre. In the evening, the beach comes alive with seafood restaurants, night markets and beautiful sunsets.
What to Do on Jomtien Beach
Relax by the Sea
Loungers and umbrellas line the beach, with vendors serving fresh fruit, cold drinks and Thai snacks. You can even enjoy a traditional Thai massage in the shade, just steps from the water.
Water Sports
Thanks to its steady breeze, Jomtien is one of the best spots in Thailand for windsurfing and kitesurfing, with schools offering lessons for beginners. Jet skis, parasailing, banana boats and paddleboards are also available. Choose a reputable operator and check the equipment before you ride, or ask our team to recommend one.
Walk, Jog or Cycle
The long, flat promenade along the beach is perfect for a morning jog, a bike ride or a sunset walk with the family.
Dinner and Night Markets
As the sun goes down, Jomtien Beach Road comes alive. Enjoy fresh seafood by the sea, then explore the Jomtien night markets for street food, local crafts and souvenirs.

Location: along Jomtien Beach Road, south of Pratumnak Hill
Access: free, open every day
Getting there: about 10 to 15 minutes by car from our villas in Soi Pattaya Land. Songthaews (baht buses) also run between Pattaya and Jomtien.
Good to Know
Beach renovation: a large sand nourishment project is widening the beach until early 2027. Some sections may be temporarily closed during the works.
Ideal for families: the atmosphere is calm during the day, and the bars are set back across the road from the beach.
Find your spot: the beach is long, so walk a few hundred metres for more space and quieter corners.
Best time: late afternoon, for the cooler air and the sunset.
Season: November to March offers the most pleasant weather, while windsurfers enjoy the breezier days.
