Eastern Star Country Club: A Robert Trent Jones Jr. Course Near the Sea
In Ban Chang, about 45 minutes south-east of Pattaya and just 2 km from the coast, Eastern Star Country Club is one of only five courses in Thailand designed by the famous American architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. Opened in 1992 on a former coconut plantation, it offers an 18-hole links-style layout lined with hundreds of palm trees and refreshed by the sea breeze. A forgiving, well-maintained course, a long-time favourite of golfers in the region.
The Course
18 holes · Par 72 · about 7,130 yards from the back tees
The fairways are generous and the terrain gently undulating, so the course is enjoyable for all levels. But with well-placed bunkers and no fewer than eleven lakes, it keeps you thinking on every shot. A classic Trent Jones Jr. layout where the trouble is always in view, and one well-designed hole leads naturally to the next.
