Nual Beach: Koh Larn's Monkey Beach
At the southern tip of Koh Larn, Nual Beach is a small, picturesque cove of about 350 metres, better known as Monkey Beach. Its name comes from the family of wild monkeys living on the rocky hillside at one end of the bay. White sand, milky-turquoise water, shady trees along the shore and views of the Pattaya coastline in the distance: one of the most charming and quietest beaches on the island.
What to Do on Nual Beach
Meet the Monkeys
The monkeys live among the rocks and trees on the hilly side of the beach, and often come down to the sand, especially in the afternoon. Watch them from a distance and keep your food and bags close: they are wild and very curious.
Swim in Clear Water
Sheltered in its bay, Nual offers clear, turquoise water, perfect for a refreshing swim. Stay in the swimming area near the centre of the beach.
Relax in the Shade
Unlike many beaches on the island, Nual has trees along the shore, keeping the loungers cool. Simple beach restaurants, showers and toilets are available.
Enjoy the View
From the beach, admire the green hills of the island and, on clear days, the Pattaya skyline across the bay.
How to Get There
By ferry and songthaew: take the public ferry from Bali Hai Pier to Na Ban Pier on Koh Larn, then a songthaew or motorbike taxi to the southern tip of the island.
By speedboat: some speedboats and island tours stop directly at Nual Beach.
By private boat: the most comfortable way, with a drop-off directly on the beach. Ask our Concierge Team.
Practical Information
Location: southern tip of Koh Larn (Coral Island)
Access: free beach, open during the day
Departure point: Bali Hai Pier, a few minutes from our villas in Soi Pattaya Land
Good to Know
Do not feed the monkeys: keep a safe distance, do not leave food or drinks unattended, and watch your belongings.
Go early: the beach is at its quietest in the morning, before the tour boats arrive.
Water shoes: recommended near the rocks, where there can be sea urchins and the tide reveals rocks and old coral.
Watch the current: the sea can be livelier here than on other beaches of the island, so swim carefully.
Season: November to April offers the calmest sea and the clearest water.
